They seem to be about the same age, but I’m pretty sure these three kitties are not related. Or at least, the one in the middle isn’t. He’s a purrfect chocolate colorpoint and is unlikely to be of the same litter as the gray tabby and black kitten.
Doesn’t really matter, does it? All that matters is that they’re all just too cute!

actually it is very possible that they are all from the same litter. Kittens all have the same mother obviously, but they can very easily have different fathers.
Good point. I guess the mother could have been a colorpoint who mated with two different tomcats. I guess I need to brush up on feline genetics of coat colors – it’s been a while since I’d done my reading on the subject.

Iv’e done a little research into different looking kittens from the same litter.
Kittens can be either cross-breeds, non-pedigrees or pedigree. Obviously a pedigree kitten has pedigree parents of the same breed and would suggest a deliberate choice of the owner to control the look, and personality of the kitten(s). Cross bred kittens will have (pedigree parents) but the parents are different breeds, I like this one as the kitten will come out as either one of the parents. The kitten will be a surprise to the owner and will take the personality of one of its parents and the look also. Now a non-pedigree kitten is the result of cross-breed parents. The gene pool will have many breeds mix in and there will be no way of predicting how the kitten will look. The picture above would suggest that the kittens are non pedigree although I could be wrong, They are cute kittens though.
